Pros:
- Got to work on everything from big name clients to a music video.
- Incredible animators that taught me a ton.
- Exploring Tokyo was a blast.
- Felt like creative was the center of the agency.
- Assigned creative work across all media types. Digital, tv, pr, etc.

Advice for other students:
Think about more than just W+K Portland. Advertising is an international trade and those that understand that are valuable.

- Incredible top notch people.
- After you have Wieden+Kennedy on the resume, more opportunities in the industry surface.
- At W+K, I supported the Coca-Cola account team and was able to work on several traditional and digital campaigns.

- Wieden+Kennedy has the best talent/people in advertising.
- Worked on huge automotive client accounts.
- Social media research in the auto category. I was able to present my research and strategic thoughts to the planning and account teams.
- Learned the agency work; ho work flows through an agency (It's not like your school's ad club).
- Cool office.

Makes me want to be a creative.

Get active with internships as early as possible.

Pros:
You can't ask for anything more that to be put on the Old Spic account at Wieden Kennedy.
- Able to see production across print, digital, out-of-home, and experiential initiatives.
- Partisipated in strategy/positioning meetings.
- Amazing people. Both creative and strategic.
- Cool office.
- Company culture.
- W+K really embraced me as an intern and I'm very thankful for that.
- Company events.
- The feeling that people were constantly curious and wanted to try new things.

Find a way into Wieden Kennedy it's worth it. I had an amazing summer.

Pros:
- Helped create content for W+K blog and facebook/twitter handles.
- Worked on the brand Jordan account, which I loved. Performed a competitive analysis and able to pitch media ideas for partnerships with Target and ABC.
- Wieden+Kennedy is a very well respected agency and anytime I tell people that this is where I interned, they immediately take me serious.
- People at W+K.
Cons:
It's tough to land an entry level job because they hire so many pros.
Advice for other students:
If you're interested in advertising, an ad agency internship is a must. It's nothing like your marketing classes.

- Huge brands.
- Wieden+Kennedy has a great reputation in the industry.
- Loved seeing all different sides of the account work. I learned that you really have to get upstream to provide a ton of value.
- Consumer insights for Kraft business was definitely a highlight.

Lots of organization.
Advice for other students:
My advice is to know a clients business. Know everything about them. When you approach an agency about an internship, you will impress them with a deep understand of a client's perspective.

- Reputation of the agency from it's peers.
- Worked on clients like Levi's, Nike Basketball, Coca-Cola, Old Spice, and more. Huge brands.
- Rewarding work.
Cons:
It can be intimidating when you first get there as an intern.
Advice for other students:
Advertising internships are important, try as hard as you can to get your foot in the door (it isn't easy). W+K was an incredible opportunity for me. I'd also recommend feeling out an agency's culture.
