Pros:
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Loved the forecasting projects that United Technologies had our team working on.
- The people and my manager at United Technologies where great. I also got along well with the other interns and we had some fun summer events.
Cons:
- Fact checking, audit type work.
- Not too many people know the company.
Advice for other students:
Corporate finance is more interesting than most students think - but, it's probably more fun to be on the consulting, ibanking, accounting side of things before going over.

Pros:
- Real, hands on experience at United Technologies.
- Enjoyed the strategy work on analyzing temp and contractor workers.
- Smart boss.
- Experience in applicant tracking system.
Cons:
- HR always gets kind of looked down upon by my peers (not at UT), but in general.
Advice for other students:
HR is cooler than it gets credit for. I had a great organization behavior class/professor and this open the door to my interest. So, my advice is to take at least 1 hr related class.
