Pros:

- The work was very interesting. I was part of a team that was building a social initiative from Sears.
- Given freedom to come of with architecture solutions.
- Good manager.
- Led to a fulltime job offer.

Advice for other students:

I've got to be honest, I was a little surprised at how great my internship was at Sears. I loved it.

- Merchandising experience.
- Teamwork.
- Inventory planning experience.

Cons:

- Some slow days.

Advice for other students:

Get into the merchandising game however you can. It's tough to crack into.

Pros:

- Merchandising experience. I was part of the team that sent Holiday end caps to over 1,000+ stores. I also helped put together a forecast and pricing plan.
- Sears culture.
- Sears is doing better.
- Scale.
- Competitive analysis projects were very interesting and my manager took my recommendations seriously.
- Fragrance category expertise.

Cons:

I would have enjoyed seeing more of the creative/marketing side of the business.

Advice for other students:

My advice is to consider merchandising as a career.
