Pros:
At SAIC I was able to do the following real accounting work:
- Supported monthly accounting processes for segment with more than $120MM in annual revenue.
- analyzed past invoices to reconcile payments, leading to recovery of $20k in unbilled revenue.
- Given the freedom to performed due-diligence which swayed Division CEO to end pursuit of potential $80MM acquisition.
Cons:
Not too many people know what SAIC does or who they are.
Advice for other students:
SAIC is a hidden gem. Everybody was great to our intern class and I was impressed at the caliber of work they through my way.

Pros:
I spent the summer working in an engineering support role at SAIC McLean, VA location. SAIC partnered me with a mentor and it was very, very helpful. He took the time to explain not only the engineering tasks at hand, but also the overall business. He was one of those rare breeds that understands both business and engineering. I also got compensated well and enjoyed being right outside of DC for the summer. I had a bunch of friends working on capital hill for the summer, so DC was a blast. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and I'm a better engineer and business person for it.
Cons:
none.
Advice for other students:
SAIC is a large company, so make sure you understand your role as an intern and what unit you will be supporting.

Advice for other students:
SAIC is a great company and I recommend an engineering internship. Also, ask questions when you are there - show interest.
