Pros:
- Exposed to some interesting contract finance. Feel like I've been taught a ton in this area.
- At Raytheon, you get to work on important projects that have value. They don't just put the interns in the corner.
- Outstanding and supportive supervisor. Everybody was nice to us interns.
- Learned to monitor run rates for certain clients and monitored cash flow compared to projects. It's great to get these real experience, very valuable.
- Internship coordinators are easy to meet with and talk to if you have any issues.
Cons:
- Not a lot. Raytheon isn't associated directly with finance.
Advice for other students:
Raytheon internships are a pipeline for fulltime offers, I got one and accepted. Good pay. I recommend the internship.

Pros:
- Good pay.
- Great people.
- I was able to see a completed engineering project (I started working as it was wrapping up). I really enjoyed seeing this.
- Supervisor was supported and asked all about my school work.
Cons:
Sometimes it felt like Raytheon was too large of a company. Didn't feel like I really understood their core business.
Advice for other students:
Great place to learn big time corporate engineering.

- I like the fact that we are working for the government.
- Projects are large in scale and it's exciting to be part of a team working on something that is exciting.
- Good pay.
- Well organized HR team that will help you out with any part of your internship.

Pros:
Worked on security for email and other messaging clients. I was able to write actual code for this project. The experience I got from this is very valuable. I now know what it's like to be a part of a huge technology project and work specifically on security in messaging. Raytheon is a great company that treats interns right. We had events, mentors, speakers, etc.
Cons:
- I wish I got to see more projects in detail at Raytheon.
- Some of the say to day work was very tedious.
Advice for other students:
Amazing internship experience!

Pros:
- Well done program. HR coordinates everything very well and will help out if you ever need them.
- Incredibly interesting engineering project that I worked on.
- Nice people and smart engineers.
- Challenging work.
- Felt like I was doing important work for the government.
- I worked in a small group of engineers so the company, while huge, didn't seem too huge to me.
- Good pay.
Cons:
Raytheon is a huge company, which is both a pro and a con. Lots of opportunities for engineers.
Advice for other students:
Internships at Raytheon are a great way to score an entry level position. I think it's pretty easy. Overall, great place.

Pros:
I was asked to produce a C++ program that decoded Air Traffic Control radar data for test and analysis purposes. At the time, my programming experience consisted of one unit of a class I took freshman year. After studying more advanced C++, I was able to produce this program and several other similar programs. Not only was I able to make a large contribution on the project, I was able to become proficient with a very useful tool.
Cons:
none
Advice for other students:
If your work starts off slow, be patient. It often takes some time to become integrated into a project team and to understand the project enough to do meaningful work. Ask lots of questions, people will always be willing to help. Make connections with people in a position to give you work. Sometimes you need to be proactive to get enough of a workload to keep you busy.

Pros:
- Smart engineers.
- Raytheon has a great reputation.
- Good pay for itnernship and good pay for entry level job (I ended up taking an offer).
- Raytheon is used to interns and the programs are a well oiled machine.
- I had a great manager and hungout with other interns and co-workers outside of work.
Cons:
Worked on a huge project and I wish I got to see more, but that's the trade off for scale.
Advice for other students:
When you're at Raytheon, ask for additional work and make sure to checkout all departments. Networking is very awkward, but you should get access to multiple projects so that you can pick the line of business you are interested in.

Pros:
- Enjoyed working as a military contracted. I felt like we were helping the country. The work felt important.
- Learned a ton about Solid State Microwave Circuits from Raytheon. Raytheon also helped me earn my R6sigma specialist certification in a single summer.
- HR at Raytheon is helpful in laying out the red carpet for interns. If you even need anything, they are there for you.
- Good culture.
- Good pay.
- Good employer brand.
Cons:
Work load is somewhat uneven - really busy on some days, but then down time on other days.
Advice for other students:
Be aggressive at Raytheon. Don't just sit in your cube and wait for work. Talk with engineers and volunteer on projects whenever possible.
