Pros:
At Ralph Lauren Polo, I worked on direct mail and email campaigns. It is crazy to think about the amount of information and data they have. My team was comprised on some very seasoned marketers and I learned a ton about direct marketing and the analytics behind the scenes.
Cons:
Some mind numbing numeric work.
Advice for other students:
Ralph Lauren Polo is a great company. For this particular marketing internship, make sure you're not afraid of numbers, excel, and databases.

Pros:
Ralph Lauren Polo was an excellent place to learn the PR business. I performed trend and style research. I basically reviewed and wrote briefs about certain trends that I saw in culture which was really interesting. I then looked at those publications (both large and small) and tried to think of ways to place polo. By the end of the internship, I was given the freedom to help work with some large style publications.
Cons:
Some typical intern work associated with PR - organization, delivery of materials, support work.
Advice for other students:
I highly recommend an internship at Ralph Lauren Polo. They are very hard to find and get, so try to get to know a manager.

Pros:
I learned the operational side of a large manufacturer and how they get their product to a retailer. Ralph Lauren Polo has a great distribution network and inventory control mechanisms. My boss was supportive and we hungout outside of work, he cared.
Cons:
Some of the work was tedious.
Advice for other students:
Supply chain and distribution aren't as sexy as fashion, but their roles are vital. Ralph Lauren Polo has great brand recognition (of course) so it's given me street cred as I apply for entry level positions.

Pros:
Good summer at Ralph Lauren Polo. The top things about the internship was getting a glimpse into the different departments (Concept Design, Production, and Fabric Management). My favorite parts of the internship was the work and the people in the concept design group (especially women's apparel).
Cons:
More a shadowing type internship and support role than really growing my skill set.
Advice for other students:
Getting into fashion design is tough, take what you can and make it work.
