Pros:
The way my internship worked was that a sales person would get an RFP (request for proposal) and I would help them create a plan. For example, company wants to reach 18-24yr olds and has a budget of $100k. We would then look at different ad products and inventory (impressions) and create a plan to answer the proposal. This was really interesting to me. I didn’t know much about media or the sales process. I learned a ton about online metrics. Pandora also granted me access to dfp (ad server), atlas, nielson, and some other programs that every media person knows. I’m very, very thankful that I learned these programs because it gives me a hard skill that other students just don’t have. As far as the company itself – it’s awesome. It’s what you would expect from a high growth internet company. Everybody (especially my manager) was terrific to me.
Cons:
None, I'm very thankful for this experience.
Advice for other students:
Pandora doesn't have a ton of internships, so be on the lookout and find a way to network within the company.
