Pros:
45 minutes away from Miami & South Beach
5 Minutes away from the closest beach
Absolutely gorgeous area surrounded by top-notch golf courses.
My department assigned me to tasks and projects that will benefit the company in the long-run. I didn't have any clerical duties (typical intern assignments). I gained real world experience that was equivalent to an entry-level position.
The culture of Office Depot is pretty decent. The corporate campus is great. There is beautiful panoramic view of Boca Raton from every floor.
Mentorships. Potential to be hired full-time. Overall great internship.
Cons:
Location. Boca Raton is a retirement city for snow-birds. Despite there being to universities in Boca (FAU & Lynn) there isn't much to do.
Re-location. There is virtually no public transportation, so you definitely need a car. There isn't a Zip Car port either.
Housing is very expensive. Although they give you a housing allowance, you're more than likely going to pay more than what they give ($1500).
Long hours.
Advice for other students:
Apply early so you have time to make necessary arrangements regarding travel, housing, finances.
