NextEra Energy offers a range of summer internship opportunities for sharp individuals. Our goal is to develop new talent and test candidates for a right ‘fit’ for future full-time employment. We do this by offering relevant work experience on challenging projects and assignments.
As an intern, you’ll have the chance to gain exposure to a corporate environment, prepare for a full-time career and confirm or modify your career aspirations.
To apply, you’ll first need to review internship openings and submit an online application. You must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. and be enrolled currently as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree or two-year technical or vocational program in the appropriate course of study.
Most internships last eight to twelve weeks, and once it’s over, you’ll be evaluated and considered for rehire the following summer or possibly for full-time employment. NextEra Energy also has apprenticeship programs in our distribution and nuclear business units and some internships for high school students.*
