Pros:

- Cool office.
- Very fun co-workers. We went out a lot together in Arlington after work and DC.
- Strong mgmt team (although I think the CEO/Founder just left).
- One of the top social media agencies and well respected in the category.
- HR is very nice and easy to work with.
- Interns are often recruited on for fulltime roles.

Cons:

- Young and aggressive culture.
- Some people put in long hours.
- Some tedious work.

Advice for other students:

Be creative in the application process. Also, make sure to know the New Media Strategies clients. Oh, and for goodness sake, be active in social!

Pros:

- NMS team.
- Digital outreach is pretty fun. I was basically on blogs and social media sites all day long.
- Strategic.
- Cool office.
- Culture was relaxed but passionate. People worked hard.
- Big clients like NBC,

Cons:

Commute from DC can be painful (I'm not from a big city).

Advice for other students:

NMS is a great place to spend the summer with fun people, cool city, and you'll gain experience in the social media world (which is growing like crazy right now).

Pros:

- New Media Strategies hires a lot of former interns and college grads into their online analyst roles.
- In social media all day.
- Learned tracking/analytics tools like Radian6.
- Company culture is young, fun, and energetic.
- Little bit of access to mobile (mobile is hot right now).

Cons:

- Owned by Meredith Corp.
- Competition.

Advice for other students:

Reach out to NMS via social and make sure you have experience in the space.
