Internship Stats
NetApp hires about 60 summer interns to it's headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA. All internships are paid and most internship opportunities are geared towards technical students.
Highlights
NetApp is consistently ranked as one of the very best places to work - they were most recently
ranked #7. NetApp also creates summer intern events and allows interns to show their work to key executives at NetApp's Intern Showcase.
Internship & NetApp Overview
NetApp hosts a three-month summer internship program that aims to help you achieve three key goals: gain understanding about the NetApp® business, gain knowledge about the specific role and organization in which you will work, and engage and socialize with the community of interns and employees in various events at NetApp sites and off-site, such as local baseball games and volunteer events.
In addition to working on meaningful, real-world projects, you will have the opportunity to participate in our formal summer internship program. You will meet directly with executives and organizational leaders across all business areas through our Summer Speaker Series. We want you to walk away from a summer internship at NetApp and decide that this is the right place for you to start or continue your career. You'll have the opportunity to find a community that is just right for you.
The program's pinnacle is our Intern Showcase. It's your time to shine, because this event allows you to share the highlights of your project with your peers, NetApp employees, and our senior leadership team.*

Pros:
- Given freedom to present my thoughts and ideas.
- Seen as an "equal" by managers.
- Very intelligent group of people. Mix of science/math and business acumen.
Cons:
Wish the company was closer to San Fran!
Advice for other students:
You have to check this company out. From what I can tell, my experience was better than friends who interned at Google and others.
