Pros:

- Learned how to market an event.
- National Geographic treats interns well and I felt a good support system.
- For the resume, I can show real results of how my marketing drove attendance to events.

Cons:

- College credit.
- Lots of coordination work.

Advice for other students:

It's a good internship.

Pros:

- Everbody knows National Geo.
- I got a look into magazine operations.
- Learned a lot about assets (photos/articles) and how they can live across multiple media types.
- Cool office.
- Great boss.

Cons:

- Some work (organizing and categorizing photos) can get redundant.
- college credit

Advice for other students:

National Geographic Magazine is one of the best places in DC to gain editorial experience.
