Pros:
I gained tremendous internship experience at Morgan Stanley. My group advised on potential mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, and leveraged buy outs. I love the LBO world. My managing director was a great guy, I really got along well with him. Also, I gained experience building quantitative financial models for all different scenarios. Oh, and we had a cool pitch book intern project.
Cons:
Morgan Stanley doesn't quite carry the same weight as a JP Morgan or Goldman. I know, I know.
Advice for other students:
Get to know your managing director.

Pros:
I had a great time at Morgan Stanley during my summer intenship. It's one of the top finance internships in the country. I worked on the Fixed Income Sales and Trading desk. I split my weeks between the Municipal Trading and High Yield Sales desks , and the Securitized Products Group Sales desk. Overall, it was a good experience and I had a great boss.
Cons:
Some times where I didn't have work to do and I felt like I was kind of in the way.
Advice for other students:
Do investment banking if you can - you'll get better experience and have a more well rounded skill set.
