Pros:
I was able to work on some interesting projects at Meredith. Projects included:
- Running an online contest for one of their magazines.
- Assisting in photo publishing for Better Homes and Garden online.
- Freedom to create metrics behind social engagement and pitch them to my supervisor.
Overall, I loved the exposure to the publishing world. It is interesting to see a company that has traditionally been very good at print/tv switch over to digital and start to gain serious traction.
Cons:
Some customer service type work.
Advice for other students:
Media companies are fun places to work because the business is changing so rapidly.

Pros:
My internship at Meredith might seem a little odd, but I loved it. I work with advertising clients of a quilting publication. I learned about the media buying process, but I also got to work on creative projects with clients - basically helping some of the smaller players create ads. Loved Meredith and the internship.
Cons:
Media is a tough business.
Advice for other students:
I highly recommend Meredith.
