Pros:
At McCormick, I worked within the HR department on basic corporate communications. I was able to help draft the corporate newsletter, identify trends in our market (competitive analysis), and even help a little in PR. It was interesting for me to see the corporate working environment. Everybody in the office was very pleasant and easy to work with.
Cons:
I wish I could have gotten to see more of the PR and advertising part of the company. I think those are the fields I'm most interested in.
Advice for other students:
I networked through career services and alumni. My manager/boss was an alum.

Pros:
While some of the work was tedious, my favorite part of the internship was that I got to see all parts of the finance/accounting function, but get pretty vertical in the accounts payable area. As an accounting major, this is very valuable on the resume. Other than the actual work, McCormick is a great place - cool office, nice people, good hours, good pay, etc.
Cons:
- Company felt a little old school and not too progressive, but I think that may come with dominating the market for so long.
- Some of the collections work was pretty boring.
Advice for other students:
McCormick is a winner in the CPG space and they need smart, aggressive, young people.
