Pros:

This is a high end magazine that comes out once a year and was created by Stu and Marie Freeman 25 years ago. The company includes the Freemans and one other employee, Nancy, involved with sales. As an intern at this small business, I get an amazing amount of hands-on experience, which includes blogging, editing, etc. I am able to witness production of the magazine from beginning to end. This is a worthwhile first internship.

Cons:

College credit, not paid. It's a niche publication, so you trade employer brand awareness for experience.

Advice for other students:

Great chance to do actual work.
