Pros:
Loved learning how the insurance business works. Huge business in terms of dollar amounts and hedging risk is critical. I had the opportunity to get a little bit of underwriting experience. Everybody at ING was friendly and helpful and the ING office is in a pretty cool part of Atlanta.
Cons:
There was definitely some clerical tasks that were pretty ming numbing.
Advice for other students:
ING is a great company and take a look at all internships, not just the insurance piece.

Pros:
- Transparency with the team.
- Complexity of risk issues that ING deals with is a fun challenge. ING sells and manages all sorts of financial products, so it's important to monitor everything as a whole.
- Growing field.
- Supervisor was a great guy and we grabbed lunch all the time.
- Willingness to teach.
Cons:
Some busy work and some days where the workflow was light, but not too bad.
Advice for other students:
If you haven't, take a look at a Risk mgmt internship. Whether it's with ING or not. There are going to be more and more jobs in the space.

Pros:
- Good brand that people know.
- Lots of online banking experiences. Interesting from a bunch of different angles and technologies.
- Smart web group.
Cons:
- Lots of documenting and cataloging.
- Work got redundant at times.
- Slow build times due in large part to the bureaucracy found at a large company.
Advice for other students:
Push ING to get you involved higher upstream on projects instead of just the organization and documentation piece.

Pros:
- I learned what it's like to work in the accounting department of a large company.
- ING has a cool office in Atlanta.
- Supervisor and other co-workers treated me well. We grabbed lunch all the time and they asked me about school, career, etc and told me what it's like to work at ING.
- Enjoyed the budgeting projects and I now feel like I have a good handle on how ING works.
Cons:
Some admin work. Also, there was some times where I didn't have much to do.
Advice for other students:
ING is a good internship and I recommend it. Not a huge fan of Atlanta, traffic kind of sucks.
