Internship Stats

Honest Tea hires about 50 interns from LA to NYC to Austin. These internships are part of their Road Warrior internship. Around 10% of HonestTea's full time employees were Road Warriors (interns).

Highlights

Road Warriors will have the chance to get creative with Guerilla marketing efforts. These interns will also gain access to major events and enjoy free tea.

Internship & Honest Tea Overview

Honest Tea, a leader in the organic bottled tea market, hires Sales & Marketing undergraduate summer interns who can take the brand to the next level. Honest Teas is a rapidly growing company with great opportunities for hard-working, resourceful, hands-on interns who can act as ambassadors for the Honest Tea brand across the country.

Honest Tea looks for interns who will be “road warriors” promoting Honest Beverages in retail stores and at consumer events as well as being apart of our in-store merchandising sales team. Interns will seek out guerrilla marketing/sampling opportunities wherever thirsty people can be found.

Event types include (but are not limited to): Consumer (outdoor concerts, film festivals, marathons, road races, and parades), Retail (college block parties, grand openings), In-Store Demos (sampling at Whole Foods, Fairway, etc.) and Guerilla (sampling on the street in key areas of major cities).*

Pros:

- Fast growing company. You can feel it when you're in the office.
- You learn guerilla marketing, quickly.
- Very nice co-workers that are flexible and easy to work with.
- Free tea!

Cons:

It's intense to spread the word about a new beverage product. Lots of sampling which sometimes isn't the most intellectual thing.

Advice for other students:

Use the internship to get a sales/marketing job within Honest Tea - the company is amazing. Great stories about management that started as interns.

Pros:

- Honest Tea is a great company and growing like crazy.
- Given some freedom to work creatively on how to get product in people's hands.
- Cool boss.

Cons:

I'm not sure if event marketing is something that I'm passionate about. I kind of like the idea of an office cube...

Advice for other students:

If you are interested in a career in event marketing, this will be a dream come true.
