Pros:
- Hill Holiday is full of outstanding people who are passionate about the advertising business.
- Performed and presented competitive research. I created a deck and presented it to the account team.
- Cool office.
- Delicious free Dunkin Donuts coffee.
- We had an intern project which was exhilarating and enjoyable. The Hill Holiday summer intern class split up into groups of 7 and did a mock pitch in front of 50+ HH employees.
Cons:
I did perform some routine intern tasks as it related to account mgmt - but, that is also the role.
Advice for other students:
I was impressed by the organization of the Hill Holliday internship program. I've also stayed in touch with interns and old managers.

Pros:
Hill Holiday was a great place to spend my fall internship. I really enjoyed the people, office environment, and work. They are also very supportive of interns. I worked on the Libery Mutual account (you may have seen the tv ads). I did a lot of general organization and polishing of decks for client meetings. I was also tasked with a competitive analysis with recommendations for positioning.
Cons:
While the summer internship positions are paid, the fall internship (mine) is for credit only. It's was also difficult for me to get into the flow of work without being there 40+ hrs a week.
Advice for other students:
I was very impressed with Hill Holiday. My advice is to try getting advertising internships as early as you can and stay in touch with everyone you meet at the agency.

Only summer internships are paid at Hill Holliday.
Advice for other students:
Take a stats class and become more analytical.

Pros:
- Hill Holiday is a great ad shop.
- I touched huge brands like Dunkin' Donuts and Putnam Investments.
- Participating in media vendor pitch meetings. This is basically when different media companies pitch their offers. It was very cool to see and I was impressed by ESPN media.
- The media planner took the time to teach me DART, Atlas, and basic ad trafficking.
Cons:
I'm not a big fan of SEO in general.
Advice for other students:
- Learn about ad servers.
- Know the principles of serving and measuring ads.

Pros:
My internship at Hill Holliday allowed me to learn the inside of the new business process at ad agencies. I loved it. I worked on several RFPs and CRM systems to keep in touch with clients. It's incredible how relationship based this business is and how an agency really has to think about their own positioning. I was also able to work on a few Liberty Mutual campaigns (good to see the account planning/mgmt side as well). I loved all my co-interns and managers at Hill Holliday!
Cons:
- Data work.
- Tough to land jobs without hard skills (like design tools or digital skills).
Advice for other students:
New business at an agency is a rush. Get in and get after it. I loved Hill Holl

Pros:
- People.
- Paid.
- Intern project.
- Hill Holliday is a great agency and I really enjoyed the agency culture.
- Liberty Mutual account.
- The biggest pro of my internship was that it taught me a ton about creating content for the web. Both in terms of content management systems and writing for the web (seo, etc).
- My fellow interns were awesome.
Cons:
none
Advice for other students:
During the application and interview process, don't be passionate about advertising, be passionate about advertising at that agency. Be agency specific.

Pros:
- Hill Holliday is a cool agency and I really enjoyed the internship.
- Research and presented on Chili's and a business unit of Bank of America.
- Put in charge of press and general client news.
- Felt like I was part of the team instead of just an intern.

- Not a summer internship, so it was tough to get into the flow of things working only a subset of hours.
Advice for other students:
Advertising agency internships are very fun. It's the best way to get experience in the marketing world.
