Pros:
I was an intern in the documentary department. My main responsibilities included watching documentary films submitted to HBO and writing reports on them for the department’s vice presidents. I worked with the public relations department on a weekly basis to set up screening premieres. I also worked on a marketing campaign geared toward the college demographic for the second season of the HBO series East Bound and Down.
Cons:
The most challenging aspects of my internship were getting adjusted to the large work load and long hours. Not a bad thing, probably good.
Advice for other students:
I would tell students to NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! It is important to build as many connections with people as you can.
