Halliburton Internship & Company Overview

Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry.  With more than 55,000 employees in approximately 70 countries, the company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir – from locating hydrocarbons and managing geological data, to drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and optimizing production through the life of the field.*

At Halliburton, we know that our people are our most valuable asset. To remain an industry leader, we're always looking for talented individuals from the world's leading institutions to join the Halliburton team. Our internship programs offer you the chance to gain the skills and experience you need to become a success in your field and potentially become full-time employees with Halliburton. Through Halliburton's internship and co-op opportunities, you'll have the chance to:

  • Receive the hands-on industry experience you need to evolve your talents, abilities and ideas
  • Gain practical experience in some of the most challenging and rewarding environments

If you're happy going on coffee runs for the summer, this is not the internship for you. We are looking for bright, self-motivated students who are looking to grow and develop as effective communicators and leaders.

Tips for a Successful Internship

Internship and co-op opportunities at Halliburton not only give you the chance to gauge your interest in that profession and enhance your abilities and talents, but they also give us the chance to learn about you. So what can you do to make your internship successful? Following are a few tips:

  • Stay busy – If you finish a project early, be proactive and ask for more work.
  • Network – Get to know the other interns, managers and other members of your group.
  • Remain professional – Do not get involved in office politics or gossip and keep personal activities to a minimum at work.
  • Remain open to any assignment – No job should be considered too small or not in your job description.
  • Get involved – Take advantage of Halliburton's many opportunities to volunteer in the community in which you work.
  • Make an impression – Remember, if your end goal is to find a full-time position, you should take every opportunity to make the most of your time as an intern.
  • Express your interest – If your internship was a great experience for you, express your interest in further employment to your manager and human resources.

Don't forget your reference - If you've done all of the things it takes to be a successful intern, be sure to ask your manager and other co-workers if they'd be willing to provide a character and work reference for you.*
