Pros:

- My expectations were high, but I truly learned a ton from the people at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.
- Participated like anyone else at the agency. I was taken seriously.
- Worked across multiple accounts including HP, Nintendo, and Sonic.
- Culture was laid back and confident. I felt like everybody was a pro.
- Invited to meetings.
- SF is a cool city.

Cons:

Some typical intern work.

Advice for other students:

Interning at Goodby was an amazing experience. You'll learn a ton.

Pros:

- People.
- Not afraid to try something new.
- Accounts: Sprint, Doritos's, and Yahoo!.
- Exposure to digital. Helped launch a microsite.
- Senior Goodby leaders.

Cons:

- Long hours, i you choose to put them in.
- Goodby doesn't offer many internships.

Advice for other students:

Having Goodby on the resume opens up doors. Focus on landing some great internships and do it early (freshmen and sophomore year).

Pros:

- Big name clients.
- Worked with Goodby's cultural strategist who are brilliant.
- Learned Goodby's approach to research and advertising.
- Video and focus group research.
- Hands on.

Cons:

Didn't get into too many creative meetings.

Advice for other students:

Find a niche and be really good at it. I don't think agencies like generalists.
