Pros:
I was tasked with evaluating different portfolios and running analysis on those portfolios. I've never done any portfolio mgmt other than my couple thousand dollar Scottrade account, so this was interesting to me. I was amazed at how individual each portfolio has to be based on that persons/couples plans. If there was a template, it would be super easy, but there isn't. I also learned that these roles are all about being a people person and explaining complex decisions/instruments in an easy to understand way.
Cons:
I'm also interested in private equity and investment banking and I didn't really learn anything about that at Franklin Templeton - different businesses.
Advice for other students:
Great place to learn about financial planning for high net worth clients.
