Pros: I worked alongside Rivera and his staff on the weekend news show Geraldo at Large. It took me a few days at first. We had pitch meetings every Wednesday, and they expected us [interns] to have fresh story ideas. I started researching, looking on the Internet, blog sites, anywhere I could find that story that was unique and timely. I was looking for something no one else was covering. It was very exciting to be part of this process, I loved it. Cons: nothing Advice for other students: Be ready to get creative! It was kind of surreal that they were actually accepting my ideas and they wanted me to be so involved with the process. I wanted to impress them with all of my ability. I wanted to go out there and do my best.

Pros: (1) Fox News gave me the freedom to do some exciting work. I pitched ideas, researched stories, and anchor/wrote for Fox university. (2) Able to go on set to Huckabee and Glen Beck. It was exciting to help out with those shows. Cons: none. Advice for other students: Start producing side projects so that you have a portfolio.

Pros: I worked for the Fox Business Network as a production assistant. It was very cool to see what goes on behind the scenes and the producers did a good job getting me involved and educating me on their thinking. I was also able to contribute some online research/writing about the economy. Cons: - Most media internships are unpaid unless you can get some type of grant through your school. - Some times I was doing pretty menial tasks. Advice for other students: Work hard on your application.

Pros: - Worked with on-air and guest talent. - Social media projects. - Fox News does a good job onboarding and getting interns together. - Hungout with some famous people. - PR experience. Cons: - Sometimes had to work the phone lines. Advice for other students: My advice is to be active in social channels.
