Pros:
Forbes allowed me to get hands on experience in what it's like to produce a story. I worked on Forbes and Forbes Asia stories. At first, I did mostly fact checking for stories and then helped compile a top philanthropist list of Forbes Asia. There is a ton of research that goes into each piece, especially if it's one of Forbes's annual reports.
Cons:
I guess in a perfect world I would have done more writing and less fact checking.
Advice for other students:
Everybody at Forbes offered me help and responded well to my questions. I thought it was a great place with a lot of energy.

Pros:
I really felt a rush from working on advertising proposals at Forbes. I worked in their digital sales group and basically responded to RFPs and learned to package inventory (impressions, etc) together and respond to potential client needs. I knew a little about web advertising from a site I launched in college, but this was a whole other ballgame. I learned about ad rates, hamepage takeovers, ctr measures, ad trafficking, optimization, etc. This is also going to give me a head start in a field (digital media) that is growing like a weed. The sales process is also pretty crazy when you are trying to court one of the big media agencies with a ton of buying power. Being niave, I thought you would work with individual companies, but almost all of the ad packages we close are bought by media agencies on behalf of huge clients.
Cons:
none
Advice for other students:
Learned a ton at Forbes and the whole team was great to me. I really appreciated the opportunity.
