Eli Lilly Internship & Company Overview

Eli Lilly internships are located at our corporate headquarters in Indianapolis and last 10-12 weeks, from May until September. We seek top performers – those who can uphold the Lilly values and exemplify our global standards of leadership. Then we match you with projects based on our business needs and your skills and interests.

As a Lilly intern, you’ll be working on meaningful projects at one of the world's top pharmaceutical companies. You’ll meet and interact with Lilly executives and participate in Lilly courses especially designed to help students learn specific, targeted skills. You’ll receive competitive pay, a subsidized housing offer, relocation assistance, access to sport, social and cultural events, and free parking.

Application Process:

Lilly is committed to working with academic institutions to identify and attract top talent to fill open positions in response to our business needs.

Lilly works with various targeted schools to conduct on-campus interviews in a variety of discipline areas. We invite you to check the recruiting event schedule for your area of interest to determine if we will be visiting your campus. If we are not visiting your school, please search through the open campus positions and submit your resume directly online.

We begin our search for campus talent in the fall and conclude our search in the spring or until we fill our intern class – whichever comes first.

We offer opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students with outstanding academic records and/or work experience in: Chemistry, Biology, Engineering/Manufacturing Operations, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology/Computer Science.*

Big company and great for the resume.

Pros:

I worked within the Eli Lilly communications department. The goal was to let employees know what's happening around the company. I was able to write a few stories for LLYNEWS (Lilly's intranet) and document company projects.

Cons:

- Some parts of the day were slow.
- It's difficult to tell whether people value internal communications.

Advice for other students:

Writing is very important in communications. My advice is to write as much as you can and make sure you've got good writing samples when you interview.

Pros:

- Eli Lilly did an oustanding job with my internship. Start to finish, it was truly an amazing experience.
- I worked on an intranet project for different groups to communicate and share knowledge.
- Strategic technology group.
- Paid.
- Good company culture.
- Events.

Cons:

none

Advice for other students:

My advice is to try and find out how strategic the technology group is in a particular company you are looking to work for. If the tech group is just your company computer guy, it's not going to be the right fit.
