Edison. It’s a name that has been associated with invention and innovation, the kind that has made us a national leader in renewable energy, energy efficiency, smart grid technology and electric transportation.

We are a company that employs over 17,000 people in areas from engineering to marketing, information technology to finance, customer service to architecture and beyond. It’s a place where recruits want to join and employees want to stay.

Through Southern California Edison’s College Relations programs, students can further their leadership skills and experience meaningful work and contributions that will apply to their career goals. This can be done in a culture that embraces teamwork, respect and diversity. Students from many different universities and backgrounds have participated and continue to offer their talent and ideas to help the company carry on its vision: Leading the Way in Electricity.*

Pros:

Great group of people at Edison and everybody seemed genuinely happy to work there. Pay was fair to good and HR was very nice when I was trying to figure out all the logistics of starting my internship.

Cons:

Advice for other students:

I was kind of surprised, but honestly, I was able to apply my accounting classes directly to certain projects. If you are a general business major, you should take more accounting classes - accounting is not going away.

Pros:

- Felt like a family atmosphere. My co-workers, boss, and other interns were all a pleasure to work with. They were smart, professional, but also down to earth.
- Edison realizes the importance of "community" and they allow employees to volunteer and get involved.
- I learned that a great organization has marketing baked into it and it's not just about creating a tv spot or brochure. My boss's boss was a really intelligent buy and I loved learning from him about marketing.

Cons:

no cons

Advice for other students:

There is and will continue to be a ton of jobs in energy. My advice would be to at least try to understand some of the technical/engineering stuff so that you can be well rounded an well knowledgeable.
