Pros:

- Learned cmpaign management tools for different promotions we had running.
- Got to participate in all marketing related meeting and by the end of summer, I was actively offering up my opinions.
- My boss was an awesome lady. She rocked. She took the time to explain all the analytics tools that the company uses and how they fit in to the grand scheme of things. She also gave me a "big picture" overview of the company which was fascinating. I got lucky.
- Paid.

Cons:

Some employees didn't seem to be that passionate about the biz.

Advice for other students:

Offer up your opinions and thoughts while you're at Deluxe, people will respect you and the worst thing that can happen is that they say no.

Pros:

I was able to work across the small business and personal check business. Worked on cross sell promotions, some digital stuff, and general marketing support. I didn't realize how big of a business this was and Deluxe treated me well. My boss was fair and all the people I met were very nice to me, even though I was an intern (and asking a ton of questions).

Cons:

Some general admin type tasks and I'm not sure about their entry level hiring.

Advice for other students:

Ask questions and show passion for the business and you will standout as an intern. Also, try connecting with Deluxe on social media.

Pros:

As a recent graduate in an uncertain job market, an internship is often the best bet at landing a full-time gig. However, my internship experience was much more than just a gig, it was an eye-opening opportunity that has paved my way to a professional career. Working as an intern at Deluxe taught me skills that no textbook ever could.

Most co-workers are eager to help and ask how you're doing. It's a pleasant environment that highly encourages innovation. Hard to complain.

Cons:

In such a large corporation it can be tricky to communicate among departments, and this remains true at Deluxe. To note, they are working at improving this drawback. Also, there are very few young faces, so don't expect a trendier, hip and youthful company environment.

Advice for other students:

Work as hard as you can. Speak up and don't be afraid to take risks.
