Pros:
A great experience in the Maintenance/Troubleshooting side of engineering. Air Lines are a great experience for engineering students because you really start to understand the economy and where financial priorities are with projects.
The benefits are fantastic. Air Lines offer the rare chance for young students to travel the world for little or no money. Delta is probably the best Air Line to intern with because of how large their fleet is. 2 week trip to 3 countries in Europe? $50 in taxes. Oh yes, I did fly business class by the way. I think anyone will agree that is a good deal.
Cons:
It is hard to put this is the cons category but for me, this side of engineering does not suit me well. This internship has taught me that I would much prefer the research and development side of engineering.
