Pros:
I was Accounting Intern at Dell Computers in Austin, TX during summer 2009. I had a few different projects, including working with employees in Mexico and Panama to reconcile a Mexico credit account and being in charge of accounting for the company’s tradeshow inventory items. At the end of the summer I presented my projects to the CAO (Chief Accounting Offcer) of the company. I will be going back to Dell this fall full-time. I will be in their two-year rotational Finance Development Program.
Cons:
None.
Advice for other students:
I think I had a leg up in the application process as an accounting student at a largely tech company. Also, led to an entry level job.
