Pros:
- Assisted on several photo shoots, both in house and on location.
- Given freedom to edit and photoshop photos the way I saw fit.
- I like the responsibility to match articles to photos. I was able to present ideas and my manager let me go with it most of the time.
- Overall, I really enjoyed interning at DailyCandy.
Cons:
Some of the work was more research than creative.
Advice for other students:
DailyCandy is a great place to get hands on work with photos.

Pros:
I was published at Daily Candy which is awesome! Overall, I really enjoyed this internship. I learned a ton about the digital media business. I'm also a business administration major, so I was interested in the business side of online publishing. My manager and the director took the time to walk me through the economics and scale of the business. It was eye opening to me and I learned more in these 10 weeks than I did all year at school. The editorial side of the internship was a blast. I researched stories (trends, events, etc) and helped to get them produced. I also wrote several stories, which was challenging and fun. Daily Candy is a great place.
Cons:
Some of the research and fact finding was frustrating.
Advice for other students:
1. Be aggressive and don't wait for DailyCandy to hand you projects.
2. If you aren't organized, you probably won't like this internship.
3. I wish I had know about SEO and html. I have no background in this, but the knowledge is important, review it before starting.
