Pros:

My Costco internship was absolutely amazing. I worked with the corporate marketing department. From day 1, I was assigned real work and when I wasn't busy, they had me working on a special project to be presented at the end of my summer internship. The special project was a marketing plan to reach more college students and build the Costco brand on campus - I was able to present this to some marketing execs and they responded well. Other assignments included putting together print materials for various campaigns, putting together RFPs for potential vendors, and cross coordinating multiple projects. It was truly an eye opening summer and I loved it.

Cons:

none

Advice for other students:

Costco is a terrific company. This internship led to a fulltime job offer and I couldn't be happier. During the internship interview process, show some serious passion for the brand/company.

Pros:

- Smart team members at Costco.
- The buying process is something that I will remember. It’s interesting to learn about how an item actually makes it to a Costco shelf.
- I felt very welcomed as an intern.
- Learned a ton about tax law (way more than I ever thought I would know). This is one of those valuable skillsets that I will definitely tap into when search for entry level positions.

Cons:

There was definitely a customer service element to this internship role. Not bad, but something that in a perfect world, I wouldn’t have loved to do.

Advice for other students:

Costco is an outstanding organization. My advice would be to get in touch with the recruiters early in college and make sure you stay top of mind.
