ConocoPhillips Internship & Company Information

ConocoPhillips internships are offered in a variety of fields.  Job descriptions of each type of available summer internship will be posted through designated university career centers by August of the preceding year.  Students will be ale to apply for internship programs and submit their resumes online through their campus placement office.

Criteria for interview selection varies by position, and will be posted in the job description.

Pros:

- Great people at Conoco always willing to take the time to explain things to me.
- Loved the brand strategy meetings I was able to participate in.
- The mood at Conoco was upbeat and everybody seemed proud to work there.
- My boss was extremely helpful in taking the time to talk career stuff with me.

Cons:

It's a huge organization and sometimes my work felt lost. It's harder to make a material impact.

Advice for other students:

If they come to campus, befriend a recruiter and follow up with them. Also, get to know Conoco even if you aren't a junior.

Pros:

- Assigned a project and able to present solutions.
- ConocoPhillips uses the internship program to evaluate and make fulltime hires.
- Workflow was never an issue because of the project based work that was assigned.
- Got along very well with fellow interns and enjoyed collaborating with them.
- Overall, a flexible and results oriented company. I liked this, a lot.

Cons:

none really.

Advice for other students:

ConocoPhillips has great brand recognition and the energy sector is only going to get more and more jobs. I recommend the internship.

Pros:

- Good compensation.
- Entry level job programs and pipeline are strong coming from the ConocoPhillips internships.
- Managers were good guys and I liked their curiosity for continuing to solve and improve.

Cons:

It's a huge company and you want to get put in the right track.

Advice for other students:

I enjoyed ConocoPhillips. If you're an engineering student, you should definitely check them out.

Pros:

- Access to senior level managers to talk about the business of careers.
- Huge amounts of marketing data and their are some wicked smart people looking at things from a marketing standpoint.
- Different types of customers (not just people that fill up).
- Internship program was well put together and Conoco had events and stuff.
- Everybody was very nice that worked there.

Cons:

I'd like to have done more creative work.

Advice for other students:

Conoco is a great place to learn energy marketing. My advice is to take the internship and leverage it for all types of available entry level roles in the energy field.
