Coach

Coach offers a small number of internships with a focus on business and retail students.

Coach Internship & Company Overview

Coach was founded in 1941 as a family-run workshop. In a Manhattan loft, six artisans handcrafted a collection of leather goods using skills handed down from generation to generation. Discerning consumers soon began to seek out the quality and unique nature of Coach craftsmanship.

Now greatly expanded, Coach continues to maintain the highest standards for materials and workmanship. Coach’s exceptional workforce remains committed to carefully upholding the principles of quality and integrity that define the company. We attribute the prominence of the Coach brand to the unique combination of our original American attitude and design, our heritage of fine leather goods and custom fabrics, our superior product quality and durability, and our commitment to customer service.

This is an amazing program. Find a way in, don't just through a generic resume in their inbox.

Pros:

- Presented new product ideas and was able to share my thoughts on a new clutch.
- Competitive research.
- Coach taught me a ton about product research, design, and product creation. It was fascinating to see the thought that goes into the go/no-go decision for each item.
- Found myself loving leather.
- Freedom.
- Ability to see many sides of Coach.
- Good internship coordinator.

Cons:

Nothing.

Advice for other students:

Honestly, I was a little supised on how amazing this Coach internship was. I've got lots of friends who have interned in the fashion or merchandising business and most say it's dreadfully boring.

(2) Exposed to all different departemtns like Merchandising, Leather ManagementPrint & Pattern, Product Development, Fabric Management, etc.

Cons:

Coach doesn't make too many entry level hires.

Advice for other students:

Don't be afraid to get creative and weigh in with your thoughts. My main piece of advice is to participate.
