Pros:
- Learned excel back and forth.
- Interesting to see how multiple units are financially accounted for (which I know sounds nerdy).
- Friendly accounting staff and co-workers.
- Boss was great. I had to take some days off for a wedding and he was cool with it. He also took the time to explain several of the more complex accounting principles to me.
- Energy companies are hot right now.
Cons:
Some tasks were very tedious, but I guess that is auditing.
Advice for other students:
There is always going to be accounting jobs. CenterPoint is a great place to get an audit internship. Even if you don't want to work at a single corporation first, it still looks great on the resume when applying to the big 4.

Pros:
I worked on graphics to support the communications department. At first I thought the internship was going to be a drag, but it was pretty interesting. It's no crazy advertising business, but you actually get your work produced and it can be a cool feeling. My boss was great and CenterPoint people in general seemed very happy and friendly.
Cons:
It's no ad agency, so don't expect to get super creative.
Advice for other students:
I found out about CenterPoint through my career center. Check them out if they come to campus.
