Pros:

I basically maintained information and did some research into different properties at CB Richard Ellis during my internship. I was proactive and took on some other projects around the office. I really wanted to learn how large commercial real estate deals get put together and I was able to soak up a lot of that information even though I wasn't directly assigned to it.

Cons:

Some days were I didn't have much work and some of the work was just fact checking a database.

Advice for other students:

If you are into commercial real estate, CB Richard Ellis is a strong brand and even if the internship isn't perfect, it provides a foot in the door.

Hope I can swing this internship into an entry level job after senior year.

Advice for other students:

Show passion for real estate and be hungry while you are there - do more than they ask.

Pros:

I helped out with potential real estate acquisitions in the Atlanta, GA CB Richard Ellis office. I did a little bit of everything from basic information gathering to helping work on the cash flow models. It was pretty interesting to see a real estate company in action.

Cons:

Some grunt work.

Advice for other students:

CB Richard Ellis is good place to intern. I would imagine that the quality of the internship would depend on the office you work for.
