Carat Internship & Company Overview

Founded in 1968, Carat has become the world’s largest independent communications specialist and the market-leader in digital media solutions. Being the only independent media agency network in the world, we are free from agency ties and can focus totally on what's best for our clients.

Carat is a part of the Aegis Group Plc which is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Globally Aegis employs 15,200 people and it is structured around 2 pioneering business units – Aegis Media and Synovate. The Group has outperformed the global media sector for the last 11 years and we're the only global marketing services group focused on the two most strategically significant disciplines: media communications and market research.

Pros:

- Able to see all departments and sit in on meetings. Loved sitting in on some of the media and creative meetings.

Cons:

- not too much. Wish I got to do more, but it was tough for them to allocate work.

Advice for other students:

Carat is a great place.

Pros:

- Real hands on experience at Carat during my internship, loved it.
- People.
- Client roster.
- Worked accross all different types of media buys: CPM, CPC and CTR.
- Learned Mediaplex and Mediavisor to serve and track media. These are hard skills that are very marketable as media companies look to hire ad traffickers.
- Also got a chance to work on the creative side when coming up with copy for different Facebook campaigns.

Cons:

Literally no down side.

Advice for other students:

Carat is the type of place that you are going to get throw in the mix and learn a ton.
