Pros:
I loved interning at Cabela's. It's a well known brand and the work was always fresh (for the most part). I was able to use some of my photoshop skills and did a bunch of requirement drafts for new site features. The team also set me up with analytics access and that was a fascinating part of the web that I've never seen.
Cons:
Some fact checking/proofing work that I didn't love.
Advice for other students:
Cabella's is a cool company with a strong corporate culture.

Pros:
I learned a ton about credit cards at Cabela's. I know, I know. When you think about Cabela's you probably don't think about credit cards. I'm a finance major and I love the outdoors, so when looking for a summer internship, Cabela's was a homerun for me. The interview process was pretty standard and I think having a high GPA really helped me through the process. At Cabela's, I learned a ton about the credit card business and why retailers go after this. This is a huge revenue source. My boss and team were terrific to me and welcomed me with open arms. There was a lot of complex work that at first I didn't understand, but they took the time to walk me through it. I learned about risk management, fraud analytics, credit management, marketing analytics, and the origination process. Honestly, it was fascinating (for the most part).
Cons:
Some of the work was repetitious, but not bad.
Advice for other students:
Take some computer science classes and learn how to manipulate a database. This helped me at Cabela's, but it's a skill that I've marketed to gain other positions in analytics.
