The Harold Burson Summer Internship (HBSI) Program is a paid internship at one of the U.S. Burson-Marsteller offices. Each intern is assigned to a client team or practice group. During the internship, students work closely with experienced industry professionals. HBSI interns are given the opportunity to work as a team member, while gaining valuable work experience. Colleagues from different specialty areas of Burson-Marsteller conduct seminars for interns each week. Interns are also grouped into teams where they work on a special HBSI project, which they present to a senior management panel for review at the conclusion of the internship. The summer internship offers an invaluable career-development experience that can often lead to an employment opportunity with us after graduation.

Pros:
- Burson-Marstellar name.
- The people were terrific. Everybody from my manager to my fellow interns.
- Culture.
- I really enjoyed the media monitoring and media relationship side of the business. Basically, I love media.
- Exposure to the new business process (very exciting).
Cons:
Did a little bit of database management, which isn't that cool.
Advice for other students:
Burson-Marstellar is well known and has one of the top PR/Marketing internships in the business. I loved it.

At Burson-Marstellar, I wrote and researched certain topics for the economic development department.
- Content production.
- Able to contribute to new business pitches.

Advice for other students:
I think the Burson-Marstellar team goes to about 15-20 campuses each year to recruit. Check the schedule. If they come to your campus, make sure to go get some facetime.

Pros:
- Social media training and strategy work. I really respected the way Burson-Marstellar approached social.
- I worked a ton on new business projects. Most of the new business was building databases and organizating information. I did get to help prep for a few pitches and it is so freaking exciting.
- Fun co-workers.
- Paid.
- Got to know some clients.
Cons:

Advice for other students:
Burson-Marstellar hires a good amount of interns. Get in early.
