Interns are paired up for a full 12-week experience. Each pair is assigned a real-life project that focuses on at least two business areas of the company. These areas can include: Style and Trend, Product Development, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Retail Planning, Customer Service, Loss Prevention. Interns are paid $10/hr.

Pros:
- Amazing culture at Brown Shoe.
- Everybody is supportive of interns.
- Worked it social media which is fast paced and very fun. Able to learn reporting, monitoring, engagement planning, etc.
- Manager gave me freedom.
- Other interns and I hungout in St. Louis which can be a crazy town. We did some riverboat gambling, lol.
- Paid.
Cons:
not much.
Advice for other students:
Brown Show has an awesome internship program and I highly recommend it.

Pros:
Awesome internship.
- Loved everybody at Brown Shoe.
- Supportive of interns.
- Met with key companies executives and even the CEO took the time to talk with us interns.
- Able to see all retail channels. I worked on several marketing analytics projects (basically measuring promotions, etc) and it was fascinating to see the science behind the marketing.
- Great people.
- Learned retail biz.
Cons:
I wouldn't change anything.
Advice for other students:
Brown Shoe is amazing. The program is so well organized and you can tell that they take pride in the internships they offer.

Pros:
- Assigned 2 projects with an intern group. I was assigned a retail/merchandising project and a marketing project. You then present solutions.
- Used creativity and management listens to interns.
- Given freedom.
- Upbeat company culture.
Cons:
None.
Advice for other students:
The Brown Shoe internship is beautifully structured and first class. When you get there, take the bull by the horns. Don't wait for anything and be creative when working on your projects.

Pros:
- Project based assignments.
- Given freedom to present solutions.
- Paid.
- Brown Shoe gives interns interesting work and there is no typical intern stuff.
- Got along well with other interns.
- People seemed to love their jobs at Brown Shoe.
- You get a 360 degree view of retail.
Cons:
I'm not a huge fan of St. Louis, but there are some nice parts.
Advice for other students:
I really felt like Brown Show cared about my career progression and you could tell that the whole company took pride in the internship program.
