Beckman Coulter Internship & Company Overview
At Beckman Coulter, our goal is to connect the brightest minds with the best technology to impact the next generation of biomedical testing breakthroughs. Everything we do stems from our goal to enable new discoveries in biomedical research, drug development and the diagnosis and monitoring of disease. Our focus is to simplify, automate and innovate customer processes, to improve patient health and reduce the cost of care.
Beckman Coulter is dedicated to discovering talent and fostering individuals who are committed to our mission of improving patient health and reducing the cost of care. Through our Internship Program, we share knowledge and build relationships with qualified students from a variety of majors. You’ll work along side full-time employees as part of a team, developing the personal and professional skills that can give you a major advantage in the workplace. During the summer internship, students generally work 40 hours per week for 10 to 12 weeks, in a collaborative, learning environment supporting the day-to-day operations of a project or a department. Internship positions truly reflect the positions of full-time Beckman Coulter employees. Each intern also participates in the Beckman Coulter Mentoring Program, where experienced employees provide guidance and support to interns throughout the summer.

Pros:
- Great mentoring programs. Managers are open to talking to interns about how to best start their career path.
- I worked on projections for certain healthcare solution business units - which was fascinating, but I would have loved more work.
Cons:
- Not a well recognized brand.
- Sometimes I didn't have too much work to do.
Advice for other students:
If the recruiting team comes to your campus, go and show interest in the work.
