Headquartered in Melville, New York, Arrow serves as a supply channel partner for over 900 suppliers and 125,000 original equipment manufacturers, contract manufacturers and commercial customers through a global network of more than 310 locations in 51 countries and territories.*

Come bring your bright ideas and academic background to Arrow, where we believe there is no better way to learn than through experience! From day one as a paid intern with Arrow, you will be exposed to a corporate environment that will provide you with multiple opportunities to gain the practical experience you need to get to the next stage in your career.

Our internship program at company headquarters in Melville, NY, offers multiple opportunities for bright, talented minds to work with skilled and dedicated employees, while gaining first-hand experience. You will work in a specific business unit and get the chance to apply your knowledge and skills to real-world situations.

Currently, Arrow offers exciting internship opportunities to qualified students in the following areas: Finance, Audit, Human Resources, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Communications, and IT.

In these areas you can expect to work on projects that meet a true business need, develop and enhance your skill set, and build a professional network. We actively recruit students who have completed their sophomore year or beyond (graduate students qualify as well). Our formal intern program is generally 10-12 weeks during the summer, while some positions roll into the academic school year as part-time roles. We coordinate a fun and exciting calendar of events for the summer program; where interns are exposed to executives and business leaders, participate in our informal mentoring program, social activities, corporate citizen projects, and a number of other fun developmental and networking seminars.

Outside of the formal summer internship program, Arrow also offers internship opportunities in some of our regional locations.

Pros:

- Enjoyed the new media work. Did some social media work, content generation, and commenting.
- Worked a little on direct mail and online. Kind of cool to see these campaigns and track their success. I learned how analytical marketing really is.
- Friendly group of people.
- Gives me an in for fulltime positions.

Cons:

A lot of lame admin work that you picture an intern doing.

Advice for other students:

Arrow is a good place to intern and you'll learn from the marketing team, but try to get involved in campaigns and less admin.

Pros:

Worked mostly on end of month close, calculating and processing journal entries and balance sheet/account reconciliation. I got a good understanding of the accounting systems at a larger company. I learned how the accounting worked for multiple business lines and how the finance executives at Arrow view each line of business. Also, nice people and I had a great supervisor that was very transparent and helped me out when I had questions (which was a lot).

Cons:

Workflow is definitely an issue. There were some times where I didn't have any work to do.

Advice for other students:

Arrow Electronics is a good company overall.

Pros:

This wasn't typical HR work, much more strategic. I was able to analyze the workforce, work with hiring managers to support recruitment plans, and look into all HR programs and give recommendations. Maybe I caught Arrow Electronics at a weird time, but this internship was amazing and allowed for problem solving with creativity. Also, everybody was great to me and I really enjoyed my mangers.

Cons:

I wouldn't be able to start in a strategic HR role, I think. I'd have to pick generalist, recruitment, benefits, and then eventually wind up there.

Advice for other students:

Arrow Electronics is a smart company and I was impressed by the HR internship - definitely try to do it if you are interested.
