Apple Internship & Company Overview
At Apple, interns are an important part of the team. Whether you sign on for a 12-week summer schedule or a 3- to 6-month co-op for school credit, you’re in for some amazing, real-world work experience. And you’ll be on a fast track for landing a full-time job at Apple after graduation. That’s because our interns work on actual projects, right alongside regular employees. You might help engineer the next iPhone, develop the next generation of Mac OS X, create the in-store posters for a top-secret product launch, or travel internationally to help open a new store. We have an Executive Speaker Series that’s for interns only — you’ll hear from Apple’s leadership team and have the opportunity to ask questions. You can even enter the iContest to create or improve on an Apple product, have your work judged by Apple execs, and win prizes for your ideas. Meet with an Apple recruiter at your school, or apply online. Selected summer internship candidates will be notified by the end of April. Selected co-op candidates will be notified by the end of August for the fall program and by the end of December for the spring program. *

Pros:
Apple was an amazing company to intern for because they truly cared about their interns. They have one of the best internship programs in Silicon Valley. During the summer, interns heard almost all of the top executives give a speech about their experience and what they do. We even heard Steve Jobs speak the day the iPhone was released. There were many social events for all interns such as free lunches at Mac Cafe. I interned at Apple the summer when iPhone, new iMacs, and the new iPods came out. Whenever a new product is released, the company has a Beer Fest for all employees. Everyone meets in Mac Cafe and gets free food, beer, wine and socializes. But my absolute favorite part of the summer was Apple Corporate Games. Employees make teams to compete against each other in many different outdoor games. Our team name for the Operations Finance Department was the AppleBees. Every game has first, second and third place which you can win a medal. It is a really good time to get to know your co-workers.
Cons:
None, this is an amazing place.
Advice for other students:
Post your resume and cover letter through university career services because many companies look through them to find possible candidates for internships and job opportunities. Also, it is very important to have an internship before you graduate not only because it looks very good on a resume, but because you get to experience and learn what it is really like in your field and if you truly like it.
