Aon Internship & Company Overview

Headquartered in Chicago, Aon Corporation is the leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage and human capital and management consulting.

Aon has the Business Internship Program. This Program offers rising seniors the opportunity to gain first–hand job experience within an Aon business area and additional development through the completion of a formal training plan. The Program provides Aon the opportunity to develop relationships with potential future employees who, upon successful completion of the internship, are considered for full–time placement within one of Aon’s Early Career Development Programs. We recruit for the summer Business Internship Program starting in January of each year (Spring semester).*

Pros:

- Worked within pension plans and retirement options which is very interesting to me.
- My consulting team at Aon allowed me to help with actual client meetings and strategy.
- Smart people.
- Helped client setup tools and acted as a resource. This definitely forced me to learn some valuable client management skills.

Cons:

- The work can get monotonous and the hours can be long (anytime of consulting).

Advice for other students:

Working for Aon for the summer is the best way to see if you want to get into Human Capital consulting or not. Also, if you are an MBA, they hire a ton.
