You will step into action-oriented experience and assignments that merge what you have learned in the classroom with actual business interactions. Many of our past internship participants have found satisfying careers with growth potential at Ameren The length of your experience at Ameren depends on your academic schedule and our company needs. Ameren provides three options: - Internship: Full-time employment during the summer; usually May to mid-August.
- Co-op: Full-time during one semester and summer break; approximately eight months.
- Job Shadow: Full-time for one week; ideal for Spring Break week. You shadow an Ameren employee to learn more about the utility industry. Best for a sophomore or junior who is considering an internship or co-op the following year.

Pros:
- Worked on analysis of different markets. Some of the work was insightful. Also, evaluated other options.
- Good pay.
- Good structure and events for interns. Able to network and socialize with all interns and mangers.
Cons:
- Some standard intern assisting work.
Advice for other students:
Ameren looks to interns to make fulltime hires. Talk to recruiters when they come to your campus.

its tough to get used to working 40 hours a week
Advice for other students:
this was amazing. it was supposed to be a 10 week internship but my performance and work ethic convinced my boss to let me stay for much longer. This experience (and the recommendations from my bosses) were instrumental in me landing a really great full-time, permanent job at Ameren
