Pros:
Great experience being able to see and understand the ins and outs of shows at ABC, most of the staff seemed appreciative of our efforts, hard "bitch" work paid off in getting to go out on interesting shoots with producers/correspondents
Cons:
Many of the producers / talent at ABC are hard eggs to crack. Granted it is New York and people aren't going to immediately be friendly but it can be hard to overcome the "you're a dime a dozen" feeling some days. Also expect a lot of logging tapes, which sucks but if you are always positive and voice your goals for the internship to those producers you get to know well, it will pay off.
Advice for other students:
Take this internship, it's paid and there is a lot of great opportunities. Expect to do work that isn't fun, but if you keep an open mind and a positive attitude you will get what you need from your time at ABC News.
