Pros:

Overall, the Tax Aide Internship experience was an amazing opportunity. It was way different than what we study in the classroom. I felt like I was actually accomplishing something, and, after internship ended, I honestly felt more ready for the real world.

Cons:

Didn't feel like I was part of an internship class.

Advice for other students:

No matter paid or unpaid, it's essential to do an internship during undergraduate work. It gives you an opportunity to organize yourself. Also, it makes it much easier to talk at a job interview.

Pros:

I really have gained a great amount of real world tax experience.

Cons:

This is a volunteer internship put on by the IRS and AARP, so no pay.

Advice for other students:

You are going to learn a ton about taxes in this internship and it's a great talking point for big 4 interviews.
